Firetowers Fodder.

Across NY State, their used to be fire towers a top mountains that originally where used for forest fire surveillance and tracking, but since the aerial surveillance of 1930s and later, where mostly tourist attractions staffed by rangers. I particularly like climbing them, because they tend to be easier hikes, with great views up top.

Catskill Mountains.
